10.16.08 - When It Rains, It Pours
Well it certainly is nice to have good news come in bunches. I just today accepted a role with the Polarity Ensemble Theatre for their ongoing new play festival called The Dionysos Cup. This year features a new work by accomplished writer Darren Callahan entitled The Double Negative where I will be playing the character of Bresky. I am excited to work with this up and coming theatre and help some new work come to life.
I have also agreed to participate in a documentary about actor's and the battle between their day jobs and their true ambitions. I seem to be a prime candidate since I hold around three jobs at the moment (what am I thinking?). Stephanie Rabiola came up with the concept and will be using me for interviews on the topic. I will keep you all up to date on the documentary and it's progress as it goes.
10.12.08 - Pen Pals
It's always nice to have a different writing outlet than your own, that's why I have recently agreed to participate in what we are calling the Connections Project with Ignite Theatre Company in Denton, Texas. The executive director of Ignite, Michael Tobias, and myself will be online pen pals with each other talking about the various facets of acting and other musing about the arts that may be brought up throughout the series. You can read Ignite's blog, titled Exit Stage Left... No, Your Left, at www.ignitehasablog.com. We're just about to kick off the Connections Project this week, so add the site to your favorite's or subscribe to the blog's RSS feed to stay on top of all the content.
09.25.08 - Fall Update
Hey everybody! Just thought I would post a quick update to let you know what is going on. At the moment I am auditioning for some independent films whle also working on writing a new full length play of my own. The play is untitled at the moment and still in a developmental phase, but I will say that I am sticking to a "write what you know" philosophy. More updates on upcoming projects and the script as it progresses. Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again!
08.15.08 - Festival Time Change
A quick change for the time of the reprisal of Rusty Pipe at the Abbie Hoffman Festival. Due to some unfortunate schedule conflicts the show will now be at 2:00 PM. Same day and place, just a different time for the performance. So instead of a dinner, show and drinks make it a lunch, show and drinks (it's 5 o'clock somewhere, right?). Thanks and hope to see you all at the show!.
07.17.08 - Audiences Love Rusty Pipe
Aston Rep's world premiere of Rusty Pipe has been receiving fantastic reviews from audience members on Goldstar.com throughout the run of the show. Below are a few excerpts from user reviews:
"This was a thought-provoking play. We talked about it for a few days after seeing it. The acting was good and the fight scenes were choreographed very well."
"A dark, violent play with elements of humor in a few places. It was a good story and the acting was great."
"It was funny, it was dark, and it kept us talking about the ending even as we left the theater."
Thank you for coming to support the show and the very kind words!
05.20.08 - Next Show: Rusty Pipe
I am proud to announce that I have accepted the role of Eugene Moreley in the world premiere of a new play put on by Aston Rep entitled Rusty Pipe. I love working on new plays and the process of bringing a character to life for the first time is extremely exciting. Rusty Pipe will premiere June 27th at the Cornservatory Theatre in Chicago.
